Zagreb is the capital city of Croatia. In this episode we will take a short look around the so called “Green Horseshoe.” This area offers a pleasant walking transition from the ugly post WWII-era’s high rise neighborhoods to the elegant 19th century old town.
The video clip from Croatian INNOSOC students provides general information about Croatia and two Croatian universities: University of Zagreb and Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek. The students also present their faculties: Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, Zagreb and Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Osijek.

Families who relocate abroad with their kids more often than not put educational choice at the top of their list of concerns. If children thrive in their scholastic environment, families are much more apt to consider the whole relocation experience a success. The international schools in Zagreb are able to provide the type of education that most expatriate families are looking for. Zagreb, although only a medium-sized city, boasts a range of quality international schools that might only be expected of a place twice its size. Students can pursue the International Baccalaureate at the American school, or continue with the national curriculum's of the German or French schools. Add to these a number of smaller international institutions, and you'll find that Zagreb offers a well-rounded ...
A group of nineteen students from Meiji Gakuin University (MGU) in Tokyo spent their Fall 2015 semester studying abroad at the Zagreb School of Economics and Management. This exchange is a result of ZSEM's efforts to develop its international cooperation with renowned universities around the world, notably those in Asia. MGU students arrived early in Zagreb and took a 2-week Intensive Business English course in order to best prepare themselves for a semester of classes taught in English. They self-selected their courses for the semester, while all nineteen students took a Croatian Studies class. During the Croatian studies course, students learned about the Croatian culture and they visited the Embassy of Japan in Zagreb, the Croatian Parliament and numerous local businesses.

Zagreb is the political and cultural heart of Croatia, an amiable capital city located at the intersection of Central, Eastern and Southern Europe and a city that holds many memories of the Danube Monarchy. Zagreb originated in the Middle Ages from two rival settlements on neighbouring hills, the bishop's seat of Kaptol which is dominated by its cathedral and the free city of Gradec which was its political centre. They both formed the city’s Upper Town. The cathedral dominates the Kaptol district, its two steeples towering above the old city. The city’s marvellous Botanical Garden contains an array of wonderful natural sights. It boasts ten thousand tree and plant varieties including alpine, Mediterranean, and the exotic. Small ponds with water plants are also included in the four point...

Zagreb was the second city I explored on my two-week trip around Croatia. Learned how to ride the trams the hard way, ate some strawberries in the central square, walked through a flower market, watched people light candles and pray next to a magical painting, and visited the Museum of Broken Relationships. Croatia is located in the south of central Europe, nestled between Slovenia and Bosnia and Zagreb is the Countries capital. An old city dating back to 1094 A.D. The old historic town is divided between the newer more modern city which is conveniently accessed by a new modern electric tram railway system. Its filled with universities, museums, galleries and monuments throughout the city. A place with no shortage of outdoor cafes, festivals, and concerts. It's a very clean and quiet place to socialize and explore the history and culture of the Croatia heritage. I came here as part of my travels to live and experience this magnificent place while maintaining a $20/day meal budget. It wasn't difficult since there was an abundance of options to choose from. I found this place to be interesting...

Zagreb is the capital and the largest city of the Republic of Croatia. Zagreb is known locally as Little Vienna because of the mix of cafe-culture, Austria-Hungarian architecture, neo-Gothic cathedrals and medieval old town. Ban Jelacic Square, named after Croatian military hero, is the central and the largest square of the city. It is located at the boundaries of the Upper Town... and the Lower Town. In the Upper Town is the Zagreb Cathedral, a Roman Catholic church and the tallest and the most monumental sacral building in Croatia. But the Stone Gate is the most significant oath site in town. Inside the gate is the portrait of Mary with baby Jesus which is said to be sacred, because it is the only thing that survived the great fire in 1731. Near the Stone Gate is situated St Mark’...

https://www.expedia.com/Dubrovnik-Southern-Dalmatia.d6050111.Destination-Travel-Guides The Croatian city of Dubrovnik is one of Europe’s most enduring treasures. Cross the medieval bridge and enter the Old Town through Pile Gate, then climb the ramparts for a history lesson like no other. It takes an hour or two to walk the Old Town’s ramparts. At Fort Bokar, take in the views to Fort Lawrence, then follow the sea wall to St John’s Fort, which once protected the City Harbor from enemy ships. Explore Fort Revelin, which offers even more commanding views of the harbor, then continue on to the highest point in the city’s defenses, Fort Minceta. Once you’ve arrived back at Pile Gate, descend into the streets of the Old Town. The town is divided in two by the Stradun, a street marked at ea...
